Fidelity National Information Services Shutting Down WI Print and Mail Facility, Laying Off 32 Workers
BROWN DEER, WI—August 28, 2014—Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), one of the largest global providers of banking and payments technologies, is closing its mail and printing services facility here, and will lay off 32 workers as part of a consolidation, reported the Milwaukee Business Journal.
According to the Business Journal, the layoffs are reported to start on Oct. 27 and will continue until about March 31, when FIS transitions to a consolidated mail and printing services facility.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, FIS employs more than 39,000 people worldwide, and employs about 2,800 locally, making it one of the Milwaukee area's largest employers, the paper reported.
In 2009, FIS acquired Metavante Technologies in Brown Deer, and closed its Schlitz Park offices in another consolidation, which resulted in laying off 301 employees.
