EPG 'Inks' Keycolor Deal with Drent Goebel
CENTERBROOK, CT—November 7, 2008—EPG (Essex Products Group), www.epg-inc.com, a global leader in the manufacture and integration of color control systems, announces that during Graph Expo it sold two KeyColor(TM) III ink control systems, including KeyColor AutoSet software for presetting, to press manufacturer Drent Goebel North America Inc. www.drent-goebel.com. Drent Goebel North America Inc. chose the KeyColor III Systems for a U.S.-based press project with its customer, Graphic Packaging International, www.graphicpkg.com. The installation will enable Graphic Packaging International to achieve consistent color, speed makereadies, and significantly reduce waste. Drent Goebel North America Inc. anticipates a future upgrade with EPG’s new KeyColor color measurement technology, which was introduced at Graph Expo.
“Consistent color is essential for Graphic Packaging International’s brand packaging applications,” explains Eric Short, Director, Drent Goebel North America Inc., who sealed the deal for his company. “Integrating EPG’s advanced KeyColor III technology into this press project will enable the company to meet color carton requirements and print more efficiently.” Short, formerly the president of RDP Marathon, which was acquired by Drent Goebel, notes that he has relied on EPG remote ink control technology for over 15 years and has purchased over 40 systems. “This acquisition is a testament to EPG’s advanced technical capabilities and customer service. We’re very excited about their expansion into color measurement. ”
The KeyColor III System for the press project combines the most advanced technologies to provide user-friendly touch screen control of ink keys for rapid adjustments. KeyColor AutoSet presetting software will convert digital data from a CTP system in the prepress department to preset all ink keys accurately for even faster makeready. The eventual addition of color measurement technology will enable streamlined closed loop color control and even greater printing efficiency.
EPG’s state-of-the-art KeyColor systems are integrated into original equipment by leading press manufacturers and installed worldwide as retrofits on newspaper, commercial, and package printing presses.
