SANTA ANA, CA--10/14/2008--During Graph Expo 2008, Duplo USA Corporation will show a range of its latest products and innovative modular finishing configurations which will allow printers to introduce sophisticated value-added finishing processes to their customer offerings. Graph Expo will also be the U.S. debut of Duplo's unique DC-645 Production Color Finisher, in-line with a new knife folder, adding further application possibilities to the already versatile slit, cut, and crease machine.
Visitors to Graph Expo will see Duplo's new PUR DPB-500 Perfect Binder, the mid-range System 3500 bookletmaking system, the Ultra 205A UV Coater, as well as its intelligent DSF-5000 high speed dynamic document sheet feeder. Graph Expo will also be the first public showing of Duplo's new entry level DP-J450 Duplicator, which delivers economy, convenience and high quality printing.
In addition, Duplo will be teaming up with front-end partners Digilabs and Ultimate to present a live automated PDF enabled web-to-finish templated production of photo products. DigiLabs offers photo design and layout software that is simple to download and use, enabling easy creation and customization of photo products such as photo books and calendars on customers' desktops. When the page layout has been completed with the DigiLabs software, the produced PDF file is transmitted to Ultimate's Impostrip imposition software. Impostrip manages imposition workflow, including full control over page position, bleeds, page-spread and scaling, marks and margins.
Once the photo pages have been printed on a Xerox DocuColor Digital Color Press, the output will then be transferred to a number of Duplo finishing technologies to demonstrate the variety of finishing options and versatility of web-to-print solutions.
"We wanted to present an interactive workflow to clearly demonstrate the power and significant productivity benefits that can be delivered by a complete end-to-end print production," explains Si Nguyen, Director of Marketing at Duplo USA. "By teaming up with industry partners such as Digilabs and Ultimate, we've provided a hands-on opportunity for visitors to experience just how simple it is to automate production, which in turn offers significant cost savings by eliminating manual intervention and potential inputting errors."
