Dive in to the Industrial Market with Direct-to-Shape

SGIA (Booth 1961) and IT Strategies released a joint research report earlier this year that highlighted how digital technology is currently used in industrial printing markets. Mark Hanley, Founder and President of IT Strategies, will discuss the findings of the report over two sessions at the 2018 SGIA Expo. The first session, “Digital Technologies in Industrial Printing: Direct-to-Shape” will take place today at 3:00 pm in room N120 and will focus on the direct-to-shape segment of the report.
The aim of the report and the two sessions is to analyze how digital technologies are being used in key industrial printing markets. Some of the markets they looked at were labels, direct-to-shape, decorative, textile and display graphics. They then used these observations to comment on the current state of the industry in general. They’ll discuss both the challenges and the opportunities they see for digital adoption.
This first session will be focused on the direct-to-shape, labels and decorative markets. Hanley will discuss the findings on those markets based on the many factors they used to determine the market effects, some of which include how clients were educated, what reasons CEOs gave to move in the directions they have and what unexpected challenges have CEOs faced, among others. Hanley hopes that the research gives attendees a new perspective on the industry.
“They are all going to shows for knowledge and they want from time to time an objective outsider with a good reputation to give them a new perspective,” Hanley says.
