CINCINNATI—An HP Indigo 7500 digital press has been installed at Arnold Printing, the first commercial printer in the Cincinnati area to install this model. Arnold is also one of the first printers nationwide to purchase the new HP SmartStream Production Pro IN 100T print server.
MIAMISBURG—Hooven-Dayton Corp. has consolidated its two existing facilities in Vandalia and Huber Heights, OH, into 103,000 square feet of leased space here.
TOLEDO—Two new Websites have been launched by Metzgers Inc. Print Big Checks (www.PrintBigChecks.com) is a micro-site designed to sell large-format (up to 35x77˝) presentation checks. The Printing Shack (www.PrintingShack.com) provides common business and home items such as business cards, envelopes, greeting cards, letterhead, postcards and promotional flyers/sell sheets.
PORTLAND—Wright Enterprises has added a seven-color HP Indigo 7500 digital press to its lineup. The company also reports that Wright Imaging has achieved SSAE 16 Type II certification for the processing and printing of highly secure data.
COLUMBIA—As part of a strategic alliance, The R.L. Bryan Co. has partnered with Professional Printers to handle its commercial printing sales. Professional Printers has acquired R.L. Bryan's six-color Heidelberg heatset web press; a six-color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster LXCD 102 sheetfed press; and several other machines for finishing. Operations will remain active at the Graystone Boulevard location, and Professional Printers has brought on board approximately a dozen of R.L. Bryan's production personnel.
SEATTLE—A six-color Komori Lithrone SX40 (LSX-640) press with the new H-UV curing system has been chosen by Consolidated Press. The new sheetfed UV press expands the printer's capabilities for special effects and coating techniques, as well as the ability to deliver a bindery-ready sheet.
HARTLAND—A new, full-service marketing and communications division, called CCI Communications Group, has been formed at CCI/CoakleyTech. The new division is headed by Tim Kubina, who created and operated Avicom Communications Group. Current Avicom associates have been hired to form the foundation of the new group.
