RACINE, WI—Employees of Color Arts were gathered on a Friday afternoon in June to be told their company was closing its doors forever, leaving about 230 employees jobless.
Ranked 165th in the 2003 Printing Impressions 400 ranking of printers nationwide, Color Arts had registered a 21 percent increase in sales over the previous year. But management broke the news to employees on June 11, according to the Racine Journal Times.
The paper cited a lost account with British Petroleum and employee claims of inept management as the main causes for the demise of Color Arts, which is now reportedly in receivership.
