Hooven-Dayton Parent Acquires 'Green' Packaging and Disposable Solutions Firm TrueChoicePack
CINCINNATI—November 5, 2014—Two local minority owned business enterprises, Che International Group and TrueChoicePack have announced a partnership. Cincinnati-based Che International Group (CIG) has acquired controlling interest in Dayton, OH-based TrueChoicePack Corp. (TCP), formerly known as BioGreenChoice, as its third subsidiary. TrueChoicePack is a packaging and disposable solutions company that provides green, traditional, private label, and customized products including boxes, cushions/in-packs, bottles, containers, gloves, bags, trash can liners, food service tableware, raw materials, a range of shipping and disposable supplies, and more.TCP also provides value-added services including warehousing, distribution, R&D and consulting.
“I was first attracted to TrueChoicePack because their innovative and sustainable products, strong leadership and global supply chain, and value proposition are unmatched in our industry," said Christopher Che, president and CEO of CIG. "TrueChoicePack has developed an industry leading 100 percent biodegradable and compostable product line. TCP has served several leading U.S. distribution customers including Sysco, US Foods and Edward Don and has gained interest from many Fortune 500 companies to develop their innovative customized packaging and disposable products. I am confident that TCP’s expert team and business model will continue to gain traction with corporations and that TCP will be an invaluable addition to CIG and our mission to help our customers with Total Solutions."
Christopher Che is now TCP’s chairman and the two original owners of TCP continue in their leadership roles—Heena Rathore as president and CEO and Rakesh Rathore as chief scientific officer and COO. “We are extremely pleased to join CIG as a subsidiary company. We have experienced tremendous demand from large corporations for our packaging and disposable solutions and we strongly believe we have found the right partner in CIG, which is culturally the best fit for us and has a proven track record in serving Fortune 500 companies through acquiring and growing scalable, successful companies. Due to our partnership with CIG, TCP is now in a stronger position to scale rapidly and to have great capacity to serve large corporations. We are confident that our partnership with CIG will enable us to offer our customers a wide range of packaging and disposable solutions across various market segments,” said Heena Rathore, president and CEO of TrueChoicePack.
“Innovation is at the heart of every packaging solution we develop," remarked Rakesh Rathore, chief scientific officer and COO of TrueChoicePack. "Our team understands that the packaging and disposable needs of each customer are unique, and so we offer a distinctive, consultative approach to our services to satisfy these needs. We have expertise in R&D and global supply chain capabilities and believe our partnership with CIG will elevate our ability to develop the highly innovative, sustainable and cost effective packaging solutions that our customers are looking for."
CIG employs more than 120 people between its three subsidiary companies: TrueChoicePack, Hooven-Dayton Corp. (HDC), and Cog LLC. Hooven-Dayton Corporation provides labeling and printing solutions and Cog LLC provides graphic design/production solutions. CIG’s subsidiaries have experienced tremendous growth. Since acquiring HDC, a label, coupon and flexible packaging printer with plants in Dayton, OH, and Richmond, IN, in 2007, CIG has invested significantly in technology and employed an aggressive growth strategy that has resulted in HDC tripling its revenue over the last four years. A similar strategy is being developed for TrueChoicePack. The relationship between the three companies will provide fully integrated total packaging solutions under the Che International Group umbrella and provide a powerful opportunity to advance all three companies’ strategic priorities.
