Cenveo Employee Is Found Dead
CHICAGO—An employee at a Cenveo envelope plant here was found dead February 10, apparently crushed from a machine accident, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Hiep Vu, 54, was found by co-workers shortly before 8 p.m. that evening after they noticed he was not at his post. When they got closer to the machine, the employees saw that Vu had become stuck between the rollers.
Employees worked to free Vu, who was then taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead roughly an hour later, according to the paper. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident.
Police believe foul play was not suspected, according to the Sun-Times. It was not immediately known exactly what type of machine was involved in the accident.
A spokesperson with Stamford, CT-based Cenveo said the company had no comment on the matter.
