Arandell to Install Sixth Goss Sunday Press to High-End Catalog Production Plant
DURHAM, N.H. — June 6, 2016 — Goss International has today announced that specialist catalog printer, Arandell of Menomonee Falls, Wis., will install its sixth Goss Sunday Press in Q4 2016, further expanding its market-leading production capabilities to service new business.
With 70 new titles awarded in 2016, the new 57" (1450mm), 24pp five-unit Sunday 2000 will enable Arandell to increase its production capacity and continue to deliver the premium-quality products and high-standard level of service it is renowned for.
"As a long-standing Goss customer and early adopter of the Sunday technology, adding another Goss Sunday press to our extensive pressroom line-up was a natural step as demand for our products grew again last year," explains Brad Hoffman, president and CEO, Arandell. "Our clients require exacting color and it is our experience that the Sunday press is one of the few presses in the world that can deliver precise color at the speeds we require."
The speeds and high-productivity of the Sunday press can be largely attributed to two pioneering Goss innovations — gapless blankets and pinless folders. Gapless blankets eliminate print defects such as bump streaking, doubling and web flutter, allowing faster printing on wider webs with premium quality.
Arandell’s Goss Sunday 2000 will be configured with a PPF-3.2 pinless former folder. The pinless folder reduces the non-print area on the cylinder, allowing Arandell to choose a shorter cutoff and achieve significant paper savings.
Arandell also chose the Goss Quick Plate Loading enhancement, which can cut plate changing times by up to 40%, and a VITS Rotocut Sheeter. The sheeter provides superior cutting accuracy, an integrated print-to-cut register control and further minimizes paper waste.
The Sunday 2000 will also be supplied with a perforator, UV coater and pre-folder. This will give Arandell the flexibility to produce press-finished covers, as well as signatures.
"Any solutions to reduce waste at our production facilities fit perfectly into our environmental policies," adds Hoffman. "Being environmentally-responsible is just one way Arandell is focused on the future. Having been at the helm of this innovative, forward-thinking company for two years now, we have already made some significant operation efficiencies to ensure we stay competitive and continue to provide the best possible service for our customers.
Hoffman continues, "This latest addition to our cutting-edge pressroom is yet another demonstration of our commitment to efficient production processes and our rigorous approach to product quality. Partnering with Goss has been crucial to our success to date and moving forward, bolsters our confidence in the future."
