Alwan Color Expertise Will Showcase the CxF/X-4 Software Solution at drupa 2016

Alwan CxF/X-4 solution for brand owners
“Achieving consistent and accurate colors across products, processes and substrates has always been the holy grail for brand owners,” comments Elie Khoury, Alwan’s founder and president. Named colors, conventional techniques and colorimetric definition of spot colors did not allow easy and accurate ink formulation and color reproduction of spot colors. Thanks to the recent CxF/X-4 standard that Alwan Color Suite 6 supports, spot colors solids and tints can be measured, defined and managed spectrally, enabling easy and accurate reproduction across substrates and printing processes.

About CxF/X-4 Format
CxF stands for Color eXchange Format. It was designed by X-Rite and released in 2008. Since, CxF file format became ISO 17972 standard and is currently in its third version, CxF3. CxF files are used to communicate color data between measurement devices and third-party software. CxF/X-4 has been designed to define spot colors accurately by measuring and storing spectral information of ink solids and tints, on substrate and process black. This comprehensive spectral definition allows color management systems to accurately proof and reproduce spot colors even on devices not using the spot ink.
