Watch this week's Short Attention Span Sales Tip here.
Good Morning!
If you started each sales day telling yourself, “I will hit my number,” would it change anything?
What if you sat at your desk, took a few deep breaths, closed your eyes, and really visualized success?
Skeptics will scoff: “You can’t just think your way to results. Success comes from hustle, not hope.”
Believers will nod and say with absolute certainty: “Yes. That’s exactly how it works.”
That last part — absolute certainty — got me thinking.
Most salespeople operate from a place of fear. Desperation. Pressure. The “what if I fail?” mindset. But fear isn’t motivating them—it’s paralyzing them.
So, what if we flipped the script?
What if we chose to believe? Not in a “wish-upon-a-star” way, but in a “I’m going to act like this will absolutely happen” way. Imagine starting your day with:
“I will reach my sales goals.”
“I will be wildly successful.”
I’ve started doing this for The Sales Vault. Every day, I remind myself: “Bill, this thing is going to help hundreds of reps be their best.”
And guess what? I’m less stressed. More focused. Energized.
Confidence changes the game.
So, here’s my new rule: I’m selling like it’s a done deal. Success is my new baseline.
