Zechini to Present Novelties and Surprises at DrupaFebruary 21, 2012
Zechini’s international team is looking forward to welcoming visitors in hall 14, stand C04. On a surface of more than 3,200 sq.ft., a comprehensive cross-section of the Zechini product range will be shown. it will be divided in four areas: book blocks, casemakers, casing-in and page-to-page books.
The book blocks area will include the VIP Press Endpaper 20 cycles/min endsheet gluing machine. This will be followed in-line with the VIP Gauze back gluing and lining machine. The “new” news in this area is represented by Capri, a compact machine that applies the head and tail bands as well as the ribbon (option) onto the book block. It can handle book blocks up to 19-3/4˝ long and 2-3/4˝ thick. The head and tail bands come on a self-adhesive tape so that there is no need to use liquid glue - the machine is always clean and ready for use.
For book block production Zechini will be offering the thread sewing machine F1088. Produced by a specialist in this field the Smyth company, the F1088 book sewing machine will be distributed worldwide exclusively through Zechini. This compact manual machine was developed especially for the digital print market. Nevertheless, thanks to its very large maximum size of 20-1/2 x 19 1/4˝, the F1088 book sewing machine is bound to attract attention of conventional bookbinders as well.
The Casemaker section will include three models that were introduced last year and were immediately well received by the marketplace. The Mephisto is a low-cost model, which nevertheless boasts an industrial build and can produce cases of high quality. With its zero set-up time and easy operation, the Mephisto is ideal for short runs. It can be equipped with a variety of options.
The Roby Junior 2 all-in-one casemaker has proven to be an instant best seller. Its compact frame houses a full set of features, the most prominent one being the automatic board feeder ensuring superior accuracy and output of up to 250 cases per hour. The Roby Junior 2 can handle all the usual bookbinding materials such as paper, photo paper, cloth, PVC, leather, etc. The board can be the standard board, or padded. Changing cover material requires no adjustments.
