Zechini to Present Novelties and Surprises at Drupa
The Roby Junior 2 all-in-one casemaker has proven to be an instant best seller. Its compact frame houses a full set of features, the most prominent one being the automatic board feeder ensuring superior accuracy and output of up to 250 cases per hour. The Roby Junior 2 can handle all the usual bookbinding materials such as paper, photo paper, cloth, PVC, leather, etc. The board can be the standard board, or padded. Changing cover material requires no adjustments.
The Roby Junior Vas has not one, but two turning-in and pressing stations, arranged at 90°. enabling production of cases in a single pass at up to 400 cases per hour.
Also the Casing-in area will contain equipment never before shown at Drupa: the family of X-Case casing-in machines. The basic version X-Case requires the operator to place both the book block and the case by hand. The machine has a sturdy build. A common drive for the wing and the gluing rollers ensures uniform gluing irrespective of the book size and weight. The X-Case automatically applies a double amount of glue at the book joints which gives the book extra strength and durability.
The X-Case Plus is a semi-automatic casing-in machine. It differs from the X-Case in that the book block is fed, opened and placed onto the wing fully automatically. After casing-in the book is pressed by rollers and delivered on a shelf for easy unloading.
An inline solution composed of the X-Case Plus and the VIP Forming book pressing and joint forming machine will also be shown. Books cased in with the X-Case Plus are laid onto the infeed belt of the VIP Forming. There the books are first pressed and then the joints are formed along the spine. By performing three operations in just one passage the X-Case Plus + VIP Forming combination enables efficient production of hardcover books in medium runs.
