Salem Witch Hunt Nabs NY Counterfeiter
August 2007
SALEM, NH—Reports of phony money circulating in town led Salem Police to nab a New York man for producing bogus $20 and $50 bills using a photo copier, according to the Salem (NH) Observer.
Jeremy Hurd, 36, of Utica, NY, was arrested after a police investigation led to the discovery of $1,500 in counterfeit twenties and fifties. Police said the fake money was of a sufficient quality to fool area businesses where they had been passed, the paper reported.
