Presstek Previews its Graph Expo 2008 Booth
September 2008
HUDSON, NH--09/12/08--At Presstek's booth 2811, companies of all sizes will find digital solutions that offer a competitive advantage in today's marketplace by boosting productivity and profitability, while offering environmentally friendly operations.
Presstek 52DI and 34DI digital offset presses offer both conventional offset and digital printers the most profitable solution for meeting the demand for quick turnaround, high quality color printing in runs from 250 to 20,000. Capable of printing on a broad road range of substrate thickness up to 20pt., the DI supports up to 300 lpi and FM screening without incurring additional time or expense. These highly automated, environmentally-friendly DI presses combine the efficiency of an all-digital workflow with the versatility and high quality of offset printing.
UV Printing Option DI Presses is a new option that increases the flexibility of the 52DI or 34DI press by expanding the range of applications and markets that can be addressed; making it easier for printers to differentiate their businesses. UV waterless inks dry instantly and produce superior quality printing, especially on uncoated stock and non-porous substrates such as foils and plastics.
Presstek Compass Series of highly productive 4- and 8-page platemakers are making their North American debut at Graph Expo. With production speeds ranging up to 38 plates per hour and 250 lpi, they are ideal for a wide range of printing environments. Presstek Compass platesetters image Presstek's Aurora Pro chemistry-free plates and a range of low energy (830 nm laser) thermal plates.
Compass systems are modular and easily field upgradeable. The base model design features continuous loading, moving plates through the system in tandem. While one plate is being imaged, another is already loaded and waiting. At the same time, queue management controls all of the plates in process. Inline registration is automatic. Optional single- or multi-cassette autoloaders are available to improve productivity even more. Each cassette holds plates of different sizes and can be reloaded without interrupting production. Autoloader cassettes also offer inline standard or customized punch options.
Presstek Aurora Pro plate is a true chemistry-free, daylight-safe plate that can be imaged on a range of thermal platesetters, including Presstek's Compass and Dimension Pro 800; plus models distributed by Screen and Kodak (Creo). Aurora Pro, unlike other chemistry-free labeled plates, delivers high quality (up to 200 lpi and FM screening) at the rated speed of the platesetter. No chemistry, baking or gumming are required. After a simple water wash the plates display a high contrast image that can be examined and measured--providing significant cost savings by catching errors prior to going on press. Aurora Pro's grained anodized aluminum surface provides excellent ink/water balance properties for superior press performance, including fast roll-up performance for reduced makeready time and waste. Rated for run lengths of 25,000, Aurora Pro's strong resistance to UV inks and solvents makes it suitable for both conventional and UV short run printing applications.
