Bryan Neill, VP of sales at The Goode Co. in Cotati, Calif., credits his print shop's Hitachi web offset press — perhaps the last Hitachi half-web offset press still operating in the U.S. at the time — with playing a key role in the growth of his printing establishment. So, when The Goode Co., relocated, Neill spent more than 100 hours to create over 300 parts in order to remake the press — precisely all to scale. With no plans to work off of, it was all done using pictures and a tape measure. He even pieced together a 15-ft.-long strip of paper to wind through the press and around the rollers.
