xpedx has worked with more than 350 printers through the first seven stops of the 14-city Wide Format Solutions Summit tour. The Summits, which provide printers with tools for succeeding in wide format printing, will continue in seven additional cities from July through September.

International Paper is in talks with Norcross, GA-based Unisource regarding a proposed business combination of xpedx, International Paper's distribution business, and Unisource. The discussions were initiated when Unisource approached International Paper about a possible merger and, on April 19, the parties entered into a non-binding letter of intent to explore a possible transaction.

For printers, it was an opportunity to leverage scale of spend to better serve our customers and in so doing, to beat the competition and convert opportunities into profitable business. I cannot remember a single occasion when I had to turn down an order because I couldn’t get the right paper.

At each event, printers will learn how wide-format technology can increase sales, see live product demonstrations and understand how to integrate wide-format printing into their current operations.
EFI proved that "what happens in Vegas doesn't have to stay in Vegas," especially for the roughly 800 attendees who could select from more than 150 breakout and training sessions at the EFI Connect users' group meeting held here Jan. 15-18 at the Wynn Las Vegas. Sessions covered MIS/ERP software, Web-to-print systems, industrial inkjet printers and Fiery technology.
