manroland sheetfed Reports Profit in 2013, Delivers Over 100 New Presses

In the Langley Holdings plc Annual Report & Accounts for 2013, manroland sheetfed GmbH is said to have traded in line with expectations to make a small profit on revenues of €314 million, although with internal charges the press builder contributed some €10 million to the group's €91.4 million profit before tax. The Offenbach company delivered just over 100 new presses or 528 printing units during the year to December.

The world’s largest heatset commercial press from manroland web systems began operation on schedule at Kraft-Schlötels, part of the WKS Druckholding Group, in Wassenberg, Germany. “The LITHOMAN presses have absolutely proven themselves in daily operation when it comes to printing stability, quality, and, above all, productivity,” said Dr. Ralph Dittmann, manager of WKS.

Pictorial Offset: Putting the Sun to Work

Pictorial Offset of Carlstadt, NJ, turned to Solis Partners, of Manasquan, NJ, to install solar panels at its facility. Solis designed, engineered and constructed the 2,968-panel system that, so far, has reduced Pictorial's electric bill by 40 percent. Touted as the largest solar panel installation by any commercial printing company in the United States, the installation has (at press time) generated 1.15 million kWh since the installation, enough to power 1,255 houses for a month.

manroland Sheetfed Completes Merger Formalities with Langley Holdings

manroland Sheetfed GmbH has completed legal formalities to incorporate the company as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Langley Holdings PLC. The manroland deal was the third for Langley in Germany since 2001, with other acquisitions in the United States, France and the United Kingdom during the same period.
