Explosion Leads to Fatal Accident at Plymouth, NC, Domtar Paper Mill

Authorities say one person is dead and another person injured after an incident at a paper mill outside of Plymouth, NC.

Lt. Drew Robinson of the Martin County Sheriff's Office said the incident involved the release of hydraulic fluid that was under pressure. It happened at the Domtar plant near U.S. 64 around noon Monday.

Northwestern PA Paper Mill Still Running After Tunnel Fire

A northwestern Pennsylvania paper mill is still in business even as state police investigate the cause of a fire in a conveyor tunnel used to deliver wood chips to the plant.

The fire was reported Friday about 12:30 p.m. at the Domtar Paper site in Johnsonburg, about 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Nearly 200 firefighters from 25 departments in six counties helped battle the blaze until about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Police say extensive damage to the tunnel might delay that investigation several days.
