Creditors Aim to Force Thames Printing Into Bankruptcy

NORWICH, CT—Thames Printing, which closed its doors last month, is being compelled to provide statements of assets and liabilities, including information regarding its creditors, as a judge has issued an order for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief. The company has until Sept. 30 to comply with the order, according to the Norwich Bulletin.

Industry Loses Gegenheimer, Schaffer

The commercial printing industry lost a pair of pioneers this week with the passing of Harold Gegenheimer and Irving Schaffer. Mr. Gegenheimer, 95, whose sheet reversing innovation made a major impact on sheetfed printing, was the chairman emeritus of Baldwin Technology Co. Mr. Schaffer, 96, an accomplished craftsman and master woodworker, was a founder of Case Paper. Mr. Schaffer died of natural causes at his home in Scarsdale, NY, according to Case Paper’s Keith Goldberg. “The man was strong.
