Together with its partners, Heidelberg will demo digitally produced brochures at Hunkeler Innovationdays.

Consolidating its large-format and litho operations, ABS Graphics is moving into a new 130,000-square-foot facility just outside of Chicago. One of the first machines purchased for this new endeavor is a 72" Wohlenberg cutting system from Colter & Peterson. The move began last month and is expected to be completed in January.

Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015, being held February 23-26, 2015, in Lucerne, Switzerland, will feature leading edge technologies in digital print and finishing, as well as practical solutions that integrate with every print production workflow.

This week, Heidelberg is presenting several new solutions for folding carton production at the Packaging Days event at the company’s Wiesloch-Walldorf site. The event is aimed at folding carton producers that require optimum quality and reliability for short to medium runs.

As business continues to grow, James Morland, vice president of operations for SunShine Paper in Aurora, CO, said the company cuts between 60,000 to 80,000 custom size sheets of paper per day. The team was looking for a new paper cutter and ran into one at GRAPH EXPO 14. When Morland saw the Saber XXL from Colter & Peterson in action, he thought "it was absolutely amazing."

An Eco-Eagle Cold Foil system has been installed by Eagle Systems at the manufacturing operations of Packaging Graphics in Pawtucket, RI, a leading manufacturer of blister cards, folding cartons, thermoformed blisters, trays and clamshells.

Today's book printers and binders have created small modular work cells which can change case, cover, and book block sizes in minutes. After a successful SGIA Expo in Orlando last year, Colter & Peterson will be returning for this year's show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 22-24. The Saber XXL and Saber X15 Plus series will be on display at the company's booth. Manufactured to ISO-9001 standards, Saber ranges in size from 65-137” and some new features include an upgraded hydraulic system, cut optimization, automatic knife setting and the availability of automatic waste removal.

At SGIA 14 in Las Vegas, Rollem International will be presenting diecutting and kiss cutting demonstrations for label and tag producers. Attendees will view first-hand the quick set-up and easy changeover of the flexo-magnetic dies utilized by the Delta series diecutter.
