At booth 3617, INX International Ink will offer a wide range of ink solutions for commercial, packaging and digital printing.

The 63,000-square-foot facility is expected to produce 37 million pounds of solvent ink for packaging annually and employs 38 people.

Designed specifically for use in wide-format printers that use high-quality solvent-based inks, Sun Chemical's new Streamline range of OEM-compatible digital aftermarket inks provide an optimal solution for large-format display advertising. The inks are carefully matched to the original products for both color shade and strength, as well as physical properties, so print providers can use their existing printer settings when converting from the OEM inks.

Due to shortages and cost increases of raw materials, effective May 1, Sun will raise prices on all solvent- and water-based white inks by a minimum of 10 percent and Violet 23 inks by a minimum of 20 percent.

The combination of the Vs Series inks on uncoated stock—a popular choice today—has resulted in multiple benefits. For one thing, Van Son inks dry very quickly, and that, in turn, means Lorraine Press can finish print projects faster.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is expanding the range of printing plates, inks, coatings and print additives it offers customers in Germany by acquiring the ink specialist Ulrich Schweizer GmbH/IPS GmbH (Schweizer), based in Waiblingen. Schweizer has been supplying the industry with sheetfed offset consumables for over 35 years and is one of Germany’s biggest service providers for Pantone and spot colors. The company boasts a state-of-the-art ink-mixing plant and also offers a 24-hour delivery service.

A year after officially announcing the intention to consolidate production of water-based inks, INX International Ink Co. recently opened a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Homewood, a southern suburb of Chicago.  A larger facility than the ones INX closed in Kalamazoo, MI, and in nearby Elk Grove earlier this year, Homewood offers 80,000 square-feet of space and an interesting slice of history to go with its address at 1000 Maple Drive in the Prairie Landing Business Park.
