Domtar Applauds the EPA's Efforts of Recognizing the Benefits of Sustainably Managed Biomass Fuel

Domtar Corp. is praising the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's position that carbon dioxide emissions from sustainably-managed sources of biomass should be considered "neutral" when accounting for greenhouse gas emissions. "Just because a resource is renewable does not automatically make it sustainable, and this memorandum helps make that important point," said David Struhs, Domtar's vice president, corporate communications and sustainability.

Like earlier studies carried out in the United States and the United Kingdom, a recent nationwide survey conducted for Two Sides US by the research firm Toluna showed that 64 percent of consumers say they would not choose a company that did not offer a paper bill option and 88 percent want to be able to switch between electronic and paper bills without difficulty or cost.
