RPM Solutions Group Closing After 30 Years
ROSEDALE, MD—RPM Solutions, which reached a peak of $9 million in sales in 2008, closed its doors in February, unable to withstand the economic downturn and changes in the printing industry, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.
The business was founded in Joe Cavey's basement in 1984, and he worked with his brother, Robert, to build the staff up to 60 employees. The printer had just 20 workers remaining at the time of its closure.
According to the Business Journal, RPM Solutions lost a pair of major clients in recent years: T. Rowe Price Group, which brought its printing in-house, and Erickson Retirement Communities.
Joe Cavey let his salespeople take their accounts with them, and plans to auction off RPM's machinery, the newspaper reported.
