Kodak Donates Thermal CTP Systems Solution to Arizona State University
Also included are Thermal Direct non process plates, Kodak’s innovative non process plates featuring a traditional grained and anodized aluminum substrate. Thermal Direct plates go directly from imaging to press, eliminating the need for a processor and reducing the total cost of ownership through a faster, less variable platemaking cycle and no chemistry costs. Prinergy software rounds out the package. Kodak Prinergy workflow systems are complete, modular and scaleable PDF based workflow solutions that allow users to easily customize and optimize their workflow. They deliver intelligent automation, optimized production management, and flexible integration options for unprecedented speed, quality and control in production.
“Thermal CTP technology changed the nature of the printing industry by shortening turnaround time, reducing cost, increasing productivity, and providing consistent quality for printers and their customers around the world.” said Doug Edwards, General Manager and Vice President, Prepress Consumables, Kodak’s GCG. “Kodak’s complete thermal CTP solution with the Magnus 400 platesetter and Thermal Direct non process plates, by eliminating the processing step in platemaking, extends and enhances the benefits of thermal CTP.”
Kodak InSite software, also donated, is a Web portal for prepress. It streamlines job submission, job status tracking, and remote content proofing. InSite extends the reach of business operations and improves responsiveness to customer needs, while reducing job cycle times and material costs.
