J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print (JSM), a national leader in sustainable folding carton solutions, is proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with PrintReleaf, a technology platform that empowers companies to offset their paper consumption through certified global reforestation projects. Starting immediately, every job produced at JSM’s facility will be reforested, marking a bold commitment to environmental stewardship and climate resilience.
By measuring paper usage and converting it into an equivalent number of trees, PrintReleaf ensures that every sheet printed at JSM contributes to reforestation at certified sites around the world. This initiative builds on JSM’s long-standing sustainability commitments, which already include SQF, FSC certification, EcoVadis recognition, and a mill-direct supply chain that reduces environmental impact.
“We don’t just print on paper—we give it back,” said Jon Tardiff, President and CEO of J.S. McCarthy. “By expanding our PrintReleaf partnership to encompass every single job, we’re doubling down on our responsibility to future generations. Sustainability is no longer a value-add. It’s a necessity.”
Reforestation at Scale
Through PrintReleaf’s patented platform, JSM customers will be able to see real-time tracking of how many pounds of paper their projects consumed and how many trees were planted as a result. Trees are replanted in certified reforestation projects—many focused on wildfire recovery or restoring native ecosystems—providing both transparency and a measurable impact.
“PrintReleaf is thrilled to grow our partnership with J.S. McCarthy,” said Jordan Darragh, Founder and CEO of PrintReleaf. “JSM’s commitment to reforesting every job they produce sets a powerful example in the packaging industry and demonstrates true leadership in sustainability.”
Sustainability, Rooted in Action
As a 100% employee-owned company, JSM believes that environmental responsibility is shared responsibility. From offering warehousing and fulfillment that reduces carbon-heavy transportation, to investing in new press technology that reduces waste, JSM continues to align business growth with environmental progress.
“At JSM, we believe sustainability is a full-circle promise—from the forests our materials come from to the forests we help regrow,” said Lisa Oakes, Marketing and Business Development Manager at JSM. “This expanded PrintReleaf partnership allows our customers to be part of something bigger—with no extra cost and maximum impact.”
