The Alliance’s iLearning+ platform takes center stage at the Expo, offering live demonstrations of the latest courses and certifications. At booth 3956, attendees can explore hands-on demos, speak directly with the iLearning+ team, and see how the platform works across devices. The platform addresses the diverse learning preferences and scheduling constraints that printing professionals face.
Joe Marin, senior vice president of Member Services at PRINTING United Alliance, emphasizes the practical focus of the platform’s showcase: “We’re giving people a hands-on look at iLearning+. Everything from our new onboarding tracks to advanced certifications like G7+ Expert and Color Management Professional.” The Expo demonstration goes beyond simple product displays, with team members walking attendees through licensing options for companies with their own Learning Management Systems (LMS), and explaining how to integrate training into daily production workflows.
A key highlight of the Expo presentation is an exclusive discount on any course, available only to attendees who visit the booth in person. This Expo-only offer reflects the Alliance's commitment to making professional development accessible, and provides immediate value for show attendees.
Recent additions to the platform include:
AI and Color Management Course: An hour-long course that explores how AI is being used in print workflows, covering everything from generating images with AI tools, to understanding color spaces and their impact on print production. Developed by Jim Raffle of Color Casters, this course addresses the growing intersection of artificial intelligence and color management. The course extends beyond basic AI image generation to explore practical considerations, including color space compatibility and workflow integration, making it essential for designers, color managers, and prepress teams experimenting with AI tools.
G7+ Expert Training and Certification: For the first time, this module is available as a complete e-learning course, allowing people to learn at their own pace and earn certification without attending live training sessions. This represents a significant evolution in professional certification delivery, making advanced color management training accessible to professionals who cannot commit to multi-day live sessions. Previously, G7+ certification required attendance at three or four-day in-person courses or three-day virtual sessions, creating barriers for many potential participants.
Screen Making Basics: A training tool for screen print shops, especially valuable for onboarding new staff and introducing them to terminology and processes. This course addresses a critical industry need, as Marin notes: “It’s hard to find people with experience. Partners are looking for people who are motivated to learn.” The course guides learners through the entire screen-making process step by step, explaining why each step is important and demonstrating how proper screen making affects final print quality.
The platform’s approach to diverse learning preferences reflects broader industry feedback. As Marin explains, “We got that feedback from a lot of people. Some people can’t take that much time away from work to go through multi-day training. The on-demand option is good for that type of environment or that type of person who likes to learn as they go.” However, the platform also maintains live virtual and in-person training options for those who prefer instructor interaction and structured learning environments.
At the Expo, attendees can expect personalized consultations where the iLearning+ team sits down with them to help determine the best learning path for their specific business needs. This tailored approach enables companies to optimize their training investment by selecting courses that align with their specific operational challenges and growth objectives. The demonstration format combines course previews with practical business consulting, making the Expo visit both educational and immediately actionable for attendees' professional development strategies.
