Company tours and practical demonstrations were given throughout the day to showcase one of the most cutting-edge foundries and large-part production facilities in Europe, which was officially opened for operation on August 19, 1985.
In his speech, President of the Tübingen administrative district Hermann Strampfer stressed the significance of the Amstetten site for the region: “The Amstetten site plays an important role for the labor market and, therefore, the attractiveness of the Alb-Donau district. With trainees making up around eight percent of the total workforce, the site is clearly committed to the professional development of many young adults.”
