Booklet Binding and Team Services Open New Production Center
CAROL STREAM, IL—May 12, 2009—Booklet Binding, Inc. (www.bookletbinding.com) and Team Services (www.teamservices.com) today announced the opening of its new production center in Chicago suburb Carol Stream, IL. The facility is one of the industry’s few integrated production centers combining finishing, mailing and packaging services under one roof. With an additional 50 percent capacity, it is also among the largest marketing production, data, distribution and packaging centers in the country offering printers, marketing services agencies, and their clients an unprecedented combination of capacity, speed, redundancy and security.
Representing a $21 million capital investment, the 366,000 square foot facility unites the operations of its two prior locations, Booklet Binding’s Broadview, Illinois bindery and finishing operation and Team Services’ Itasca, Illinois data, direct mail production, mailing and expanded packaging operations, into a single facility. Leveraging integrated operations, production advancements, the latest equipment and legacy experience, the firms provide customers extraordinary services and quality now with efficiencies unmatched in the industry. Advanced production efficiencies allow all customers with any type of program—traditional or unique, simple or complex, large or small—access to the company’s award-winning services.
“As we have done for the past 33 years, our investment in this center yields game changing integration and efficiencies for our industry. Our customers asked us to do more, faster, better and cheaper, and the new facility delivers on that request,” said co-owner Tom Patrevito. “In these economic times, we recognize customers are relying on our efficiencies to remain competitive. They can’t compete using three or four production sources when they can use one secure facility designed to take full responsibility for the project, complete it under one roof and guarantee delivery.”
This new facility will permit ongoing expansion into finishing, mailing and packaging, as well as sophisticated data management and modeling services, allowing the operation to serve as a channel bridge as customers seek to better integrate highly targeted traditional direct marketing efforts with various online marketing activities.
The facility’s customized floor plan provides for continuous production, increased production capacity, expansive inventory management capability, comprehensive physical and data security, and sophisticated data services, among other efficiencies, and a scalable hand assembly and packaging operation. The highly secured, independently audited facility is certified for couponing, value loaded cards, and customer data.
Its large-scale finishing, affixing and packaging lines, coupled with its expansive inkjet personalization capabilities allow some of the fastest production turnaround times in the country. The bindery operation has one of the greatest perfect binding capacities in the entire Midwest. The handwork operation allows for up to 1200 skilled assembly personnel daily, while the packaging department’s robust capacity and versatility permit the attaching of samples and involvement devices for industries such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. In addition, proprietary mailing and assembly quality control procedures allow unprecedented integrity on the most demanding projects.
“The one thing that hasn’t changed is the vast experience of our people,” said co-owner John Kosowski, Sr. “While the facility, technology and machines give us superior capability, it’s still the experience and innovation of our staff that produces the flawless execution our customers enjoy.”
While the companies will continue to operate as Team Services and Booklet Binding, Inc., respectively, the single facility will provide comprehensive marketing production, data and distribution services, including:
