X-Rite Announces New i1 Solutions Portfolio

September 2008
GRAND RAPIDS, MI--September 23, 2008--X-Rite, Inc. (NASDAQ: XRIT), the world leader in color management, measurement and communication technologies, today unveiled the new i1 line of color management and calibration solutions. Featuring the new i1Basic and i1XTreme solutions, the i1 portfolio offers fully-featured color management systems at highly attractive price points, thereby simplifying the solution selection process for creative, photo, and prepress professionals. The new i1 family will be showcased at Photokina (booth # D050, hall 04.1, Köln Messe, Cologne, Germany, September 23-28, 2008) and at GRAPH EXPO (booth # 5214 at McCormick Place South in Chicago, IL October 26-29, 2008).

"Our i1 line has long been the de-facto standard in the industry when it comes to consistent, high-quality color management.  It offers extremely fast measurement, highly accurate patch recognition and unmatched versatility, comments Iris Mangelschots, X-Rite's senior vice president of sales and marketing.  With our new streamlined portfolio, we are responding to our customers' requests by offering high-performance solutions that include all the components necessary to meet their specific workflow and budget needs, whether they are high-end creative design agencies, photo, or prepress professionals."

X-Rite's i1 tools are used to create and edit color profiles for any color device found in typical digital workflows, including scanners, monitors, digital cameras, digital projectors or printers. These profiles, which are very much akin to the devices' individual fingerprints, are then applied to users' applications, driver or RIP to obtain the most accurate color. All of today's professional imaging and design tools support color management profiles, making i1 solutions are easy to implement in any workflow.   i1 tools can be used to obtain accurate on-screen and projected color, ensure color accuracy in digital camera files, scans and customer-provided colors, reliable match from monitor to printer, consistency and repeatability from print to print and printer to printer, and PANTONE and spot color measurement and output.

Designed to accurately profile monitors, RGB & CMYK printers, scanners, digital projectors, and digital cameras, the new i1XTreme solution is ideally suited to meet the needs of fine art and commercial photographers, high-end graphic design production, and prepress professionals. With i1XTreme, users are able to not only obtain accurate color on all the devices in their digital workflow, but they can also capture spot colors and flash/ambient light. Featuring all the essential color control functionality needed for high-end color production environments, i1XTreme includes: the de facto industry standard i1 spectrophotometer; i1Match profiling software for all devices; i1Share software for creating, evaluating and communicating color; a beamer holder; a scanner profiling chart; interactive training modules; a digital PANTONE® library; a soft carrying case; and a $400 upgrade voucher valid towards any one of the MonacoPROFILER or ProfileMaker software solutions.
