Printer Looks to Expand Digital Capabilities

SEATTLE—Olympus Press expects its new four-color Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press and EnvelopExpress envelope feeder from MGI USA to help the firm expand its business into new digital markets.

Important criteria in the purchase was the DP60 Pro's extended sheet lengths. "Our customers are used to a 40˝ sheet length, and the Meteor DP60 Pro's extended sheet sizes allowed us to migrate many of those (offset) jobs to digital for shorter runs," says Glenn Blue, co-owner. He also liked the fact that there are no click charges with the new MGI digital press.

Reliability Keeps Shop Loyal to Press Manufacturer

GREENWOOD, MS—Fourth-generation, family-owned Lawrence Printing, based here, recently replaced an older-model Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 with a new two-color QM 46. The sheetfed press is dedicated to turning out a variety of high-quality letterheads and bank forms.

Lawrence Printing also operates a Heidelberg KORS single-color press. "It's a reliable piece of equipment we wouldn't want to be without," says George Ellis, company president, about the new press.
