Open House Showcases UV Special Effects Options

SAN RAFAEL, CA—A first-of-its-kind UV Special Effects open house, sponsored by KBA North America, was recently held at Paragraphics Inc., a commercial printer that specializes in UV printing and coating. Live demonstrations were provided on the printer’s six-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 sheetfed press with UV coater. Numerous printers, both locally and from throughout the state, attended the open house.

Attendees also saw demonstrations of 10-micron stochastic printing on uncoated stock, which showed the wider color gamut and more intense color available from the UV process. Additionally, printers were treated to a “mini-trade show” by attending educational and product presentations given by the many UV-related vendors participating in the open house. They included Air Motion Systems, Bottcher America, Harris & Bruno, Kodak, Kohl & Madden and Mohawk Fine Papers.
