HPU Senior Majoring in Business Takes Internship at Printer
HIGH POINT, NC—March 25, 2009—Sean Firestone, a senior majoring in business administration with a concentration in management at High Point University, is putting his experience in print thanks to an internship at Wall Printing, a commercial print company in High Point.
Firestone, who is working as a sales consultant, performs a number of tasks on the job, including calling local prospective companies, which he finds in the Triad region through Internet and magazine resources, as well as setting up appointments for one of the sales representatives at the company. He sometimes sits in on appointments as well to see how sales meetings are run.
"My current experience has allowed me to learn the process of sales and implement my degree on a day-to-day basis," Firestone says. "I am making strategic moves to help place Wall Printing in the laps of as many businesses in the area as possible."
Firestone adds that his internship experience has helped him in his major as well.
"It gives me an applied knowledge to the classroom," he says. "It particularly helps in my senior seminar class, which involves running a business in competition with classmates for industry leadership."
