Peeq Media received delivery of a Durst Rho 500R as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its high-resolution point-of-purchase (POP)/display capabilities. “The high output speed of the machine, coupled with its sharpness and color fidelity, will provide great value to our customers. We can print at higher speeds, on a wider variety of substrates, without sacrificing the quality that our clients expect from us,” said Mark Facchin, COO of Peeq Media.
Digital Printing-Wide Format - Roll to Roll
Fujifilm invited roughly 30 printers, ranging from screen to commercial printing operations, to its facility here for an Inkjet Technology Summit, Sept. 17-18. This two-day show-and-tell was actually held at the Crown Westin Hotel in Kansas City, MO, and at Fujifilm's offices just over the state line in Kansas City, KS.

Adding wide-format digital imaging is one way to add value for existing customers and gain entry to new markets.
Fastsigns has signed a total of 18 new deals this year, seven of which were independently owned sign shops that converted to the Fastsigns brand. In addition to signing new deals, Fastsigns opened 12 new centers in the second quarter.
Agfa Graphics will be hosting a free “Wide-Format Open House” event at its distribution center in Plano, TX, on Sept. 18-20, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. “Wide-format inkjet is a fast-growing segment in the printing industry and is helping many printers differentiate themselves by offering new and exciting products and services to their customers that previously were unattainable for most commercial printers.”
To transform the distant past into realistic, life-sized color images for its new “Ultimate Dinosaurs: Giants from Gondwana” exhibition, the Royal Ontario Museum turned to Beyond Digital Imaging and its HP latex printing technology. The longest mural spans 100+ feet.
“The demand in North America—where we already have five machines up and running, and already more on order—made it clear that we needed to establish a North American base of operation sooner than later,” MTL Print CEO Ran Emanuel commented.
MTL Print has established a North American headquarters, located in Kennesaw, GA, and a new executive organization for the region. It has also decided to name the final version of the Meital 304D flatbed inkjet printer the NURstar 304.
Earlier this month, the local Believe in Tomorrow House got a mini-makeover courtesy of national signage and graphics company Signs by Tomorrow. The free exterior building wrap, valued at $3,500, was produced with materials donated by 3M Commercial Graphics.
