KBA North America has announced the appointment of two new district sales managers to concentrate their efforts on fast-growing sales territories on the East and West coasts. Richard “Dick” Bacon is overseeing the Southern California territory while John Graff is calling on accounts in the Washington, DC/DelMarVa locale.
Secap has entered into an OEM agreement with Kodak to resell Kodak Versamark 4300 UV print engine technology and associated peripherals. Secap will match up the Kodak Versamark print engine and UV cure station with its own range of transport and material handling peripherals.
Wausau Paper reports two new additions to its printing and writing group. Jeffrey Fox has been hired as director of marketing and Chesley Powell is now director of sales.
The Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR) recently presented the Neil Richards Visionary Leadership Award to Dr. Ronnie Davis, chief economist for PIA/GATF. In other news, Christina Echevarria, manager of marketing information, Goss International, was elected to chair the PRIMIR Executive Committee. Douglas Ehmann, vice president and chief technology officer, The Sheridan Group, was elected as the organization’s vice chair. William K. “Kip” Smythe, vice president, NPES, serves as the group’s president, and Jacqueline Bland, managing director, PRIMIR, serves as the secretary of the executive committee.
Ronald Baker, president of US Ink, passed away February 28. Mr. Baker ran US Ink since 1994, when Sun Chemical merged United States Printing Ink (USPI) and its news ink division to form US Ink Corp. Mr. Baker’s distinguished career in the ink industry spanned more than 50 years.
Outside auditors have certified that Weyerhaeuser Co.’s U.S. mills meet the procurement provisions of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standard.
