MISSION VIEJO, CA—Sept. 6, 2011—Sir Speedy Inc. announced it will sponsor Leslie Porterfield, “The fastest woman in the world on a motorcycle,” for a second year. Porterfield recently set two new records at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats.

First, at the mid-August Speedweek event, she rode a Honda CBR1000 to a remarkable 197 mph. Then, at the BUB Speed Trials, held Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, she broke the production 1000cc class FIM/AMA world record, taking the same bike to a blistering 200.137 mph. It was the first time a bike of this kind has had a record over 200 mph.

Porterfield’s next event is the Top Speed Shootout, Sept. 19-24.“Having Sir Speedy’s support for a second race season is fantastic! I am looking forward to setting new world records and making history in Land Speed Racing aboard the Sir Speedy Honda race bikes,” she commented.

We wish her luck and hope to see her break records at all of her 2011 speed attempts.”

Porterfield holds a Guinness World Record as the fastest woman in the world on two wheels, having reached 232.5 mph in 2008.
