Salt Lake City-based AlphaGraphics reports it is planning to reach 500 locations over the next five years.

Ingrid Wilmet has joined Impressions Inc. of St. Paul, MN, as an account manager.

Kim Hawley has joined Dallas-based Taylor Publishing as vice president of sales and marketing for the Taylor Specialty Book division. He most recently held the position of sales manager for the Commercial Book division of Walsworth Publishing.

Richard Eade, formerly of Butler Color Press, has joined Inserts East in Pennsauken, NJ, as director of operations.

Des Plaines Publishing, Des Plaines, IL, announced that Michael Ford has joined the company as president and CEO. Ford, a 26-year printing industry veteran, has served in a variety of management roles at companies such as RR Donnelley, Von Hoffmann and Hess Management.

After 40 years of public service, Anthony Zagami will retire from the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) at the end of the year. Zagami has served as GPO’s General Counsel since the early 1990s.

Anthony Pettrone, retired from Cohber Press in Rochester, NY, received the 2006 Lifetime Award presented by the Printing and Imaging Association of New York State at its annual meeting.

Dillon, SC-based Herald Multiforms named Jim Hill production manager. With 24 years of experience in the document management industry, and in particular cut sheet manufacturing, Hill will manage the plant, research new technology and oversee marketing.



Jeanice Gillett has been promoted to the new and unique position of chief experience officer (CXO) with Huston Patterson, a large-format package printer in Decatur, IL. Gillett will lead the company’s new HPx program, designed to provide clients with high-quality processes and procedures.

Joseph Delise Jr., 74, of Pinehurst, NC, died July 6. Mr. DeLise owned and operated J&A Bindery of New York City.

Cary Printing has hired Abbey Dethlefs and Nicolette DeGroot as additions to the Cary, NC-based company’s customer service department.

The CAPS Group announced the hiring of 42-year industry veteran Ettore “Sonny” Nardulli as president of sales and business strategy/development. As part of his responsibilities, Nardulli will work with Chicago-based The CAPS Group’s member firms on business strategy, corporate direction and client relationship management.

Direct Group of Pennington, NJ, has tapped industry veteran Don McKenzie as its new president and CEO. Company founder Manny Ortiz will continue as chairman of the board.

Wilmington, NC-based Mid Atlantic Printers, formerly Wilmington Printing, announced the appointment of two employees. Sales executive Carter Edwards transfers to Wilmington from the office in Charlotte. Terrie Bentley also is a new sales executive.

The Printing Association of Florida (PAF) has named the recipients for the Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas (GALA) award for 2007. Thomas Quadracci, executive chairman of Quad/Graphics, and Francisco Alberto Avila Ruiz, owner of Imprefin SA de CV, have been named Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas for North and Latin America for 2007. Both men will receive their awards at the 24th annual GALA Award banquet and reception on March 2, 2007, in Miami Beach in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas 2007.

Vertis Communications announced the addition of Tom Dyson as senior vice president of operations, who will hold responsibility over the Monroe Township, NJ; York, PA; and Irvine, CA, facilities. Dyson rejoins Vertis after working for the company as vice president of sales and technical services from 1998 to 2005.

Reflection Printing of Houston announced the appointment of James White Jr. as operations manager. He most recently was employed by Kwik Kopy Printing.

Steven Bender, former manager of Copy Cat Printing, died on August 4. Mr. Bender died as a result of complications from injuries he sustained when struck by an automobile in 2004.

Apex, NC-based Henry Wurst Inc. has named Kimberly Macias-Lewis as its new CFO. Macias-Lewis comes to Henry Wurst with 12 years of financial experience in the manufacturing arena.

Boyd Richardson, president of Commercial Press, an RR Donnelley Co., has been elected chairman of the board of the Printing Industries Association of San Diego (PIA/SD). Other elected officers are as follows: Chris Hamm of Tabs Etc. is the association’s vice chairman; Greg Gould of Eye/Comm is secretary-treasurer; and Bill Anderson of L&L Printers is the immediate past chairman. Karen Fulton was installed as president.
