Cutter Meets Need for Digital Finishing

BRIDGEVIEW, IL—Fisher Printing’s new Polar 78 X programmable paper cutter is helping to serve the needs of its growing digital printing business.

The company is using the new unit to cut a variety of products, including post cards, shelf-talker cards, in-store signage and other related items.

A third-generation, family owned business, Fisher Printing operates manufacturing facilities here and in Orange, CA. With more than 300 employees, it is primarily engaged in the production of free-standing inserts (FSIs).

Finishing System Slits, Scores and Folds

FREEDOM, PA—MSP,  a full-service direct mail marketing company offering a range of services to business and non-profit clients, has installed a Rollem ETR/Rollaway scoring, slitting, perforating and trimming system.

The 2D finishing and folding system includes an ETR, right-angle Rollaway and plow folder suitable for greeting cards. Two-up digital press sheets are trimmed and separated by a center slit on the ETR, then simultaneously cut, scored and finish-trimmed on the Rollaway, followed by plow folding for finished card products.

SGP Partnership Certification now Includes Finishing

LOVELAND, OH—The Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership has expanded its certification program to include binding, finishing and loose-leaf operations in the graphic communications industry.
