Fairrington Transportation Adding Co-Mail Services
BOLINGBROOK, IL—April 25, 2011—Fairrington Transportation announced it is set to deploy a co-mail operation in the fall of 2011. Supporting this move is the purchase of a new SIM 36-pocket co-mailer for installation in Fairrington’s consolidation center in Bolingbrook, IL.
The new machine will have six 272 Revolution feeders and 30 SF505 Titan feeders. The rated speed of the machine is 18,000 books per hour with an actual throughput (speed of machine) of 12,000. Also added to provide redundancy and increase through put are two Rima Stackers and two EAM Mosca strappers, as well as two label-aires for paper label application.
Commenting on the unique design of the custom-designed line, Jim Reifenberg, Fairrington’s vice president of sales, said, “Our due diligence showed that the pinch point in all co-mailing operations has been the stackers and while we are not sure what the increase in through put will be, we know that the redundancy of two will eliminate unnecessary down time. Further, we anticipate the eventual deployment by the U.S. Postal Service of additional FSS sorting equipment which will render shrink-wrapped bundles obsolete. This led to our decision to add the Mosca strapping option.”
“We are excited to bring a co-mail solution to the industry that is backed by our reputation for reliable product delivery service,” said Greg Rocque, president of Fairrington. “Co-mail can create a postage savings between 10-20 percent. Combined with Fairrington’s better than 96 percent on-time delivery rate, and our co-pal and DSMS services, we intend to change the game for our clients, and the mailing industry.”
