Amundson To Take Brown Printing Helm

January 4, 2013
WASECA, MN—Mike Amundson, currently CFO and executive vice president of the catalog market segment at Brown Printing, has been appointed president and CEO. Volker Petersen, current president and CEO of Brown, will retire as planned on June 30, after devoting the next few months to a smooth business transition.

“We appreciate the strong leadership Volker Petersen has provided to Brown’s business and wish him success as he pursues new challenges,” said Achim Twardy, CFO at Gruner + Jahr (G+J). “Mike Amundson’s appointment to lead Brown will ensure continued success at the high level Brown has consistently achieved over its 35 years as a division of G+J and its 55-year history overall.”

Petersen, a 24-year veteran of the company, was a 2012 inductee into the Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame.

“I am extremely proud of being a part of our industry-leading investment strategy that has created the most modern, efficient and state-of-the-art platform in the industry,” Petersen stated. “The leadership team and employees of Brown continue to deliver the quality workmanship and service our clients have come to expect while sustaining strong business results in a challenging market.”

Amundson started with Brown in 2005 as CFO. Prior to joining Brown, he was COO of The Hadley Companies and a partner at Coopers & Lybrand.
