Southeastern Printing Nets Manufacturer of The Year Award

STUART, FL—The South Florida Manufacturers Association recently awarded Southeastern Printing the Manufacturer of the Year award (winner for companies with 126-200 employees). The award recognizes and rewards excellence in all facets of manufacturing. "This is a tremendous accomplishment for our company to be honored among our peers here in South Florida," says Don Mader, CEO of Southeastern Printing. "A lot of hard work by our dedicated individuals, who pull together as a united team, have made us worthy of such accolades."

After 38 Million Impressions, Printer Replaces Press With Identical Machine

RAPID CITY, SD—A two-color Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 press recently replaced an identical machine that had logged 38 million impressions at The Little Print Shop based here. Like its predecessor, the new press is turning out one- and two-color commercially printed products in short-run quantities for a primarily local clientele that includes corporations, small businesses and retail customers.

"The new machine feels and runs tighter," says Alan Sewell, president and owner of the quick print shop. "Adjustments stay put and the pressmen don't have to fight as hard to get the ink balance where we need it to be."

The company also uses Heidelberg Saphira consumables, including inks, blankets and rollers.

MIDDLEBURY—A new X-Rite EasyTrax color scanning system is helping Velocity Print Solutions to streamline its color management on-press.

SOUTHINGTON—CompuMail has purchased a Kodak NexPress digital press with Dimensional Printing capabilities to produce one-to-one dimensional marketing materials that include tactile dimensional images and text.

WAUKEGAN—A Canon imagePRESS 6000 digital press was recently installed at Vogue Printers to provide fast turnaround times for on-demand and variable data printing jobs.

SILVER SPRING—Svec Conway Printing has acquired a Ricoh C-900-S digital color press, in addition to several complementary finishing components (Wire-O, plastic coil and perfect binding, as well as gate-folding).

CAMBRIDGE—Since purchasing Cambridge Offset Printing four years ago, the ownership has added several components, including an HP Indigo digital press; Halm Jet press; Mutoh ValueJet 1608 wide-format printer; 29˝, four-color Komori Spica perfecting press; and a 24˝, prototype tabletop Fergesson Systems UV coater.
