After almost 22 years in business in downtown Seguin (TX), Lone Star Printing & Office Supply, a landmark on the southeast corner of Camp and Court streets, closed its doors for the last time Thursday afternoon. “We had a good ride for a long time,” owner Bonnie Bartels said. “It was a good thing while it ran, but it’s time for me to dismount the horse.”
Bartels and Steve Tschoepe, production manager for the company, cite several reasons for closure of the business. Besides a persistent downturn in the economy, changing technology has adversely affected printers and suppliers of office products.
