To promote the upcoming PRINTING United Expo (Dallas, Oct. 23-25), SGIA and NAPCO Media worked with strategic partners to develop an incredible digitally printed direct mail piece that was sent to attendees at EFI Connect 2019, an event that was sponsored by PRINTING United.

Approximately 2,000 pieces were produced, bringing together the talents of several partners to showcase the capabilities of digital printing technology and to create a physical touchpoint highlighting the inaugural PRINTING United Expo. Color Ink, PostcardMania and Embossing Plus produced the pieces for the campaign. This piece was produced by Color Ink on 120-lb. Mohawk Everyday Digital Gloss cover paper on a Xerox Versant Press. An MGI JETvarnish 3D print enrichment process was used to add the recipient's names in dimensional silver embossed foil from Crown Roll Leaf at a height of 50 microns.

To understand the process to make this direct mail piece a reality, we spoke with Dave Tomko, a designer at NAPCO Media who had an integral role on getting this piece in the hands of recipients.
