This 2017 Gold Ink Awards entry, created for Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, Calif., was entered into the Digital Printing, Labels & Packaging category by MPI Label Systems, headquartered in Sebring, Ohio. What stands out is the elegant tree as the centerpiece of the label, which is beautifully designed and enhanced with gold foil embellishments and embossing.
According to Jamie Leo, marketing for MPI Label Systems, the idea for this label came from one of the many Oak Trees located on the winery's property. A local designer captured the tree and wanted us to 'knock it out of the park' with the embossing."
Approximately 80,000 wine labels were printed four-color process on MPI Label Systems' HP Indigo WS6800 digital press. The material used for this project included a white felt from Technicote, foil from Infinity Foils, and 70-lb. Bright White Felt from Avery Dennison. MPI then finished and diecut the labels on its Digicon digital finishing system from A B Graphic International.
Leo adds that even though the label has only been in the market for a few years now, it has defined the Oak Farm Vinyards' brand.
