Seasonal Ads for Winter
Every season brings on a slew of new products that need to be promoted. Smart marketers and business-owners also find ways of packaging existing products for different times of year to inspire customers to buy. As winter sets in, let's take a look at some of the ads our team has designed for our clients while the temperatures drop and the snow starts in North America.
The easiest way to work make an ad seasonal is when there is a natural fit with the products, such as these ads for winter boots and slippers that will keep you dry and warm.
But other products can be marketed for the season too. Look at this Lexus ad: if you had to brave the snow and ice, wouldn't you prefer to do it driving a new Lexus? Swap out the background to a beach scene and this ad would work well in the spring.
While people are planning for the holidays, it's a great time for them to think about investing in a new camera to capture all those special moments with family and friends (or putting it on their wish list for presents).
Since it's the time of year for holiday parties, this ad taps into the feeling many will have that their home decor needs updating. The idea of spending more time indoors may inspire customers to want some bright cheery window treatments to offset all that dreary snow.
Without mentioning any foods associated with winter, this restaurant suggests festive, special meals by featuring decorations. Similar to the Lexus ad, this could be updated regularly by simply changing one image.
"When the weather outside is frightful", a pizza at home is delightful. This ad elevates the concept of ordering in a food that is eaten all year long by making the entrée into an ornament. Suddenly, pizza is festive!
Below is another instance of an ad using imagery alone to tie into the season. At this time of year, people often think of those who are less fortunate. This food bank evokes the holidays with the visuals, encouraging viewers to donate while also offering the incentive of prizes. If you are inspired to contribute or just want to win, you're likely to respond either way!
We'll be back with another round of ads that are more Christmas-specific, but in the meantime, let me know what you think of these.
