Print and the COVID-19 Pandemic: Special Episode of #PrinterChatPodcast
Jamie McLennan from DMR Graphics, Will Crabtree from Tampa Printer, and I dedicated this episode of the #PrinterChatPodcast to taking a look at the COVID-19 crisis and its effect on print. With things developing all the time the details of how the virus is affecting printers may change, but the heart of our discussion focuses on how printers are helping their communities in a time of need, and that’s sure to continue until we are out the other side.
In this podcast we talk frankly about supplier communication challenges, the tough decisions print businesses are having to make, and what the landscape will be like when we come out of this. We also discuss the ways we are trying to use our skills and platforms to make a difference, such as Print Media Centr’s "Click, Learn, and Connect" education program in the Print Production Professionals Group on LinkedIn, which allows the industry to access all the information it’s missing out on due to event cancellations and postponements, and Will’s Local Coloring Book initiative to benefit a children’s cancer charity.
