Holiday Card Designs (in Embroidery)
Did you see the holiday card in the last post? Did you exclaim over it and wish you could see more works of art in embroidery?
You are in luck, my friend. Today, I present: Affinity Express holiday cards from past years. I pulled these out of my files because we are currently working on this year's card. And I tell you, it's hard to match up to the standards set before! Take a look and you'll see what I mean.
Let's start with Da Vinci, and probably the most famous painting in the world. The background is printed, not embroidered, because--as K.T. told me--it was much too heavy with all embroidery.
Here's an interpretation of another of Da Vinci's works.
Here's one of a Renoir painting.
And this, one of my favorite works of art:
Another beautiful Monet. Hard to believe this is embroidery, isn't it?
And if you thought we like da Vinci and Monet, we love Van Gogh just as much. Here's one.
And two. This is my favorite Van Gogh: in fact, I have a copy at home (and another copy of another of his irises).
And while it seems impossible to choose a favorite among all of these, this last one is probably mine. I have always loved Degas's dancers, and this interpretation is just perfect.
Which is your favorite? Would you like to see what we do this year?
