In an exclusive PI Xchange interview with Mark Michelson, ex-RR Donnelley veteran Mary Lee Schneider reveals lofty growth goals and new products/services she envisions for SG360°, a direct mail printing powerhouse based in Wheeling, Illinois. Schneider also discusses how customized direct mail plays a key role in multi-channel marketing campaigns, market demand for interactive print technologies like augmented reality, and growing industry adoption of high-speed production inkjet printing and its subsequent impact on offset and toner-based digital output.

One of the biggest newsmakers at GRAPH EXPO was Komori America, which made several announcements. Komori America and Screen Americas are merging their sales forces, with Komori becoming the sole distributor of the Screen Truepress Jet520HD continuous-feed inkjet press, with the intent to eventually partner for all Screen and Komori products. Also, Wheeling, Illinois-based direct marketing solutions provider SG360° will serve as the beta site for Komori's new 23x29˝ Impremia IS29 cutsheet UV inkjet press. Finally, Ontario-based The Ellis Group has installed the first GLX40 package printing press in North America—an eight-color Lithrone GX40 with full UV and logistics capabilities.
