CHICAGO—The CAPS Group has obtained a pair of prepress companies from Group360 Visual Communications: NEC Inc. and NK Graphics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined annual revenues of the acquired companies are roughly $15 million, bringing CAPS Group’s total to approximately $90 million. The CAPS Group services advertising agencies, design firms and publishers. The acquisition will expand its magazine publishing and educational book publishing segments. Nashville, TN, is the home base of country music. But it's also the home of some advanced, solid thinking about pricing the printed product and running commercial printing companies. I discovered this about Nashville, much to my surprise, in the past month. Mention Nashville to me and my thoughts used to turn to Elvis, Garth and Dolly, not to printing management. No longer. ENGLEWOOD, CO—Mail-Well has sold off a portion of its Digital Graphics Div. for an undisclosed amount. The locations sold were its Accu-Color facility in St. Louis, including Accu-Color's satellite operation in Atlanta; its Colorhouse plant in Dallas; and its NK Graphics facility in Keane, NH. The purchaser is Group360, a newly formed company owned by Roger Hancuff, Gary Stephens and Industrial Growth Partners (a private equity investment firm located in San Francisco).
