DAYTON, OH—Promatch Solutions has acquired the assets and trade name of Greyden Press and JK Digital Publishing. Greyden Press, based in Columbus, OH, provides prepress, digital printing, binding and fulfillment services to the scientific and technical publishing markets. The addition of Greyden allows Promatch to expand its short-run perfect binding, coil and binder publication offerings to include hardcase books, along with CD and DVD replication.

COLUMBUS, OH—Could the writing be on the wall for the printed phone book? AT&T Ohio is asking the state's Public Utilities Commission for a waiver of the rule requiring the communications giant to distribute hard copy White Pages, the residential telephone listings. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the commission approved a similar request by Cincinnati Bell. If approved, AT&T would still provide printed White Pages to customers who call a toll-free line. This move would not impact the advertisement-laden AT&T Real Yellow Pages, which will still be delivered.

Printing Industries of America proudly announces the recipients of the 2008 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards. A total of 51 graphic arts companies, both Printing Industries of America members and non-members, were selected by a committee of distinguished Human Resource experts from within the industry. CHICAGO—The Windy City is the place to be this month as thousands of printers from across the country converge upon the McCormick Place South complex October 15-18 for Graph Expo and Converting Expo 2006. Products and services for the graphic arts industry will encompass more than 400,000 square feet of space. Nearly 600 exhibitors have committed to the event, which reportedly will be the largest Graph Expo since 2000. Among the evening festivities is the annual Gold Ink Awards and Hall of Fame Gala, sponsored by North American Publishing (parent company of Printing Impressions), on October 16.
